This project began with mural painting, which was both a livelihood and a way of survival for my family, who are all artists. I spent long hours sitting by the roadside painting murals, holding a bucket of paint and drawing on the wall with my whole body, and then returning to the studio to continue another painting. Those experiences often felt as if I were entering the work itself, like rolling my body inside a bucket of paint. In this process, labor for a living and survival as an artist overlapped. The body that paints is both a working body and a body that uses itself as material. I actually covered my body with paint and rolled on the floor, recording those movements as panoramic images. In the continuous images, the time of the body does not break, but connects as a single flow. Through this process, I am recording a state that moves between paint and body, labor and survival.
