Chris Measor personifies(anthropomorphizes) animal characters in his artwork to represent a variety of subjects, including history, and politics, as well as satirical and philosophical tales from European mythology and classics. In his works, animal characters such as cats, dogs, rabbits, etc. act as a medium of empathy and a narrative guide that draws attention from the viewer. As human motifs can project someone's identity, such as race, class, or age, which can distort the essential meaning of the artist's intentions, he uses animals as motifs so that viewers can immerse themselves in the storytelling of his works without preconceived notions. The artist wants us to take a second look at the people we might pass by in our daily lives and realize that the characters in each work are the main characters of life and the various stories they hold. The artist creates the images with layers of varnish and paint on wood paneling that was wet-sanded, and uses acrylic gouache and acrylic ink to create the density and detail of the work.

Chris Measor, born in Ottawa, Canada in 1984, graduated from the Musashino Art University in Japan. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions both domestically and internationally, including two solo exhibitions in Thailand and South Korea. Based in Busan, he continues his artistic endeavors and is an artist whose international career is highly anticipated. Chris Measor expresses various themes in his work, including European mythology, satire, philosophy, history, politics, and film, by anthropomorphizing animal characters. The animal figures in his works, such as cats, dogs, and rabbits, serve as engaging mediums that attract the audience's interest and guide them through the narrative.
