WAL, Wal Chirachaisakul (born in 1991) is an artist of oil paintings, printmaker, and a trailblazer in the art scene for a decade. Emerging from a family deeply passionate about the business of playthings, WAL found unwavering support and genuine enthusiasm for art within his family, which has been a constant pillar throughout his artistic journey. Starting his artistic exploration at College of Fine Arts , WAL later pursued advanced studies in the Department of Painting, specializing in printmaking, at Silpakorn University. During his academic pursuits, WA;L’s artistic prowess shone through, earning him prestigious awards, notably clinching the championship in Mezzotint art competitions both domestically and internationally, spanning Japan, Russia, Canada, and more. WAL is an artist relentlessly dedicated to self-development. In 2019, he delved into contemporary oil painting with genuine passion and has been consistently crafting works in this genre ever since. Drawing from his childhood experiences spent amidst the glimmering metals of a toy factory, WAL infuses his artwork with a unique perspective on both self and society, woven into the narratives painted on canvas. Through unwavering dedication and rigorous training, WAL’s creations have become widely recognized among renowned museums and art institutions, including River City Bangkok, 129 Museum, and Aurum Gallery in Thailand, G13 Gallery in Malaysia, Davidson Galleries in New York, USA, and STPI Gallery in Singapore. The exhibition “Illusion of Stability”, held at River City Bangkok in 2024, stands as his inaugural and pivotal solo showcase, marking a significant milestone in his artistic journey.
