SEEK
The exhibition "SEEK" by Nor Tijan Firdaus delves into themes of anti-consumerism through a unique blend of art and game imagery, highlighting the insatiable nature of both gaming and consumer culture. Through seven artworks, Tijan uses iconic visuals from video games like Pac-Man and Super Mario, alongside toy assemblages with slogans like “I JUST NEED MONEY” and “WE WANT YOU,” to critique how marketing fuels unnecessary desires. Four pieces in the exhibition feature Pac-Man “ghost” cutouts filled with scenic landscapes—mountains, trees, seaside, and flowers—inviting viewers to reflect on humanity’s pursuit within a metaphorical maze, and the environmental toll of unchecked consumption.
