Luke Park creates a new beauty through the aesthetics of imperfection and minimal expression on an empty canvas. The artist, who majored in Business at Hongik University and received a master's degree in Arts and Cultural Management from the graduate institution, is claimed to have been interested in traditional Japanese culture for a long time. In particular, the Japanese dry garden culture, known as Zen Garden, influenced his current style of painting. Instead of incorporating incidental components in his works, he attempts to convey the meaning solely through the flow of brushstrokes. Exploring the true nature of life, the artist reveals via his works the necessary approach to life in our materialistic society.

EQUILIBRIUM
The theme of 'Equilibrium' (균형) is a call to reflect on the necessary balance in life, affirming that our infinite effort in this pursuit is the driving force of our existence. This exhibition introduces the new 'Equilibrium' series, an evolution of the artist’s 'Fragment' series, which embodies the 'Aesthetics of Imperfection.' The fragments on the canvas represent moments of our lives—wounded, yet embraced as they are—revealing a mature and profound beauty. Elements like Energy (氣), Body (身), Heart (心), and Soul (魂) continually challenge and foster our growth. We invite you to contemplate the balance of your life and rediscover the boundless energy within your own personal struggles. The fragments of our lives are a landscape.
