Filippo Cegani, based in Milan, has exhibited in New York, London, Manchester, Berlin, Chicago, Seattle, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, and Paris. His practice explores the transformation of religious imagery in the digital age, where sacred Christian symbols and iconographic figures are infused with digital sensibilities, causing their original meanings to blur while generating new aesthetic forms. Embracing this shift, Cegani expands it into his own visual language, creating a hybrid aesthetic in which digital 3D effects coexist with classical ornamental beauty, naturally infused with his cultural background and formative experiences. His work proposes a renewed sensibility of Christian imagery that reflects contemporary visual culture shaped by digital platforms, inviting reflection on how religious images are reconfigured at the intersection of spirituality and technology, tradition and contemporaneity.
