JooYoung Lee’s paintings begin in front of the transparent soundproof walls found throughout the city. Designed by humans to block noise while preserving visibility, these structures become, for birds, fatal boundaries against which they inevitably collide—an exclusive irony through which the artist has long explored invisible borders and intersecting gazes. The 36-piece series Everyone’s Wall (2021–2024) represents the culmination of this ongoing inquiry. As the artist states, “The desire to cross over, while knowing it can never truly be crossed, became the emotional point of contact that sustained my work.” For JooYoung Lee, painting is an act of compressing the distance between oneself and the other into the materiality of oil paint.

CDA is a gallery stands for ‘Creative’, ‘Discovery’, and ‘Appreciation’. The gallery mainly presents creative activities in various fields of contemporary visual arts in the form of exhibitions. CDA exhibition mainly focuses on paintings but subjects to all kinds of genres and mediums such as sculpture, prints, photography, animation, and video. The form of the exhibitions is also balanced, with a mix of solo and group exhibitions, as well as art fairs and collaborative projects.
