Udomsak(born 1966, Bangkok; lives and works in Chiangmai) Krisanamis’ practice has long been characterised by his specific use of collage, creating obsessive pattern made from newspaper, noodles, cellophane and paint. Over the past two decades Krisanamis’ work has maintained a distinct formal and conceptual clarity, offering a unique experimentation with the well-worn territories of grid.

While his paintings refuse to adhere to any particular context or obvious narrative, his imagery has undergone certain key transitions. Earlier paintings comprise of densely layered textured grids that resemble stellar landscapes, satellite imagery, twinkling cityscapes and blinking digital universe. Viewed in detail, these works shift between the worldly and otherworldly, the sublime and everyday. More recently, this intricate detail has been replaced by bold, reductive statements of monochrome colours such as hazard orange and fluorescent yellow, the surface of which is built up from wedges of found material embedded between layers of acrylic paint and paper.

Surachai Mawornkanong, also known as Niam Mawornkanong, is an established
Thai artist specializing in intricate acrylic painting on canvas. He used his art to captivate audiences' attention then set them free to explore their own subconsciousness.
Though possessing degrees in philosophy and fine art, the majority of his technique
is self-taught and compliments the fact that he is colorblind. His work also displays a
versatile vision ranging between abstract principles and realistic portraiture.


CHO Minah delicately captures how the inner world of individuals transforms and responds within a contemporary society where conflict and solidarity, division and connection coexist. As both an observer and an insider, she constructs scenes interwoven with relationships, symbols, and emotions, unfolding the complex and ambiguous landscape of the present on the canvas like a parable.
Focusing on the will and attitude of individuals as they navigate life, she brings a contemporary sensibility to traditional Oriental painting materials, delivering a universal message that quietly reflects on everyday life and society.
Her major solo exhibitions include 《Swaying moment》 (2022, Gallery MEME), 《 Those Days Are Scattered》 (2021, ArtSpace Boan2), 《 Subtraction, Division and Addition Again》 (2020, Kumho Museum of Art), and 《Deafening Silence》 (2018, OCI Museum of Art). She has been selected for notable programs such as the Kumho Young Artist program, the Gwangju Hwaru Excellence Award, and OCI Young Creatives. Cho has also participated in several artist residency programs, including Kumho Art Studio, Gyeonggi Creation Center and OCI R1211


Born in 1993 in Osaka, the artist began their career as a tattoo artist. Since 2014, they have been based in Tokyo, working first as a staff member at a Harajuku apparel multishop, before expanding into graphic design. They later established their own tattoo studio and office, "TAPPEI ROOM," in Nakameguro.
In 2022, they collaborated with brands such as NIKE, UNDERCOVER, and BEAMS. In 2023, they made their debut as a guest tattoo artist overseas and began publishing a four-panel comic series in the culture magazine EYESCREAM.
They work across a wide range of media, using everything from canvas and their own body to human skin, paper, and clothing as platforms for expression.

Born in 1997, Warisa (Shinnawat Sa-nguanjuk) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Design, majoring in Communication Design, at Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin. He began creating acrylic paintings under the name ‘Warisa’ in 2021.

Warisa first came to prominence in the contemporary art scene after participating in Bangkok Illustration Fair 2024, which led to his invitation to showcase his work in the group exhibition “First Light: The Joy of Discovery in Contemporary Asia” (2024), presented by All About Art Gallery and held at River City Bangkok. Both showcases received widespread acclaim, marking Warisa as one of the new generation artists to watch—known for his distinctive visual language and introspective sensibility. 

His artistic inspiration stems from the idea of the garden in its many forms—a space where emotion, memory, and imagination intertwine. Influenced by cinematic storytelling, Warisa’s paintings transform scenes of nature into poetic narratives filled with atmosphere and quiet contemplation. His works do not merely depict the beauty of nature, but evoke a world of feeling—one that exists delicately between reality and dream. 



Twenty-one artists were invited to pay homage to Goya: Fernando Arrabal, Miquel Barceló, Beatriz González, Jenny Holzer, Cristina Iglesias, Anne Imhof, Alfredo Jaar, Koo Jeong A, Alexander Kluge, Robert Longo, Cildo Meireles, Precious Okoyomon, Philippe Parreno, Raymond Pettibon, Elena Del Rivero, Rachel Rose, Thomas Schütte, Santiago Sierra, Rosemarie Trockel, Luc Tuymans, and Adrián Villar Rojas.

Seok Cho(born 1983) is currently working in Seoul and debuted with a work called <The Sound of Your Heart> on Naver Webtoon in 2006. Since then, he has been active as a Naver Webtoon cartoonist, and with his first debut work, <The Sound of Your Heart>, he won the Popular Award at the Korea Manhwa Awards in 2007, 2008, and 2009, the Golden Dragon Award in China in 2015, and the First Prize at the Korea Manhwa Awards in 2017. In addition to <The Sound of Your Heart>, he has published series such as <Tidal Territory>, <Moon You>, <Planetary Human>, <Epilogue>, and <Apocalypse Live> and has also created numerous advertisement cartoons. Currently, he is working on <Planetary Human 2: Planetary>.

Heejoon Lee creates abstract paintings from images of the natural world. In 2012, he earned a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and Sculpture from Hongik University, and a master's degree in Fine Art from the University of Glasgow School of Art in 2014. In this way, the artist collects, edits, and brushes the accumulated experiences and daily images obtained from travels from close surrounding to distinct locations, and incorporated them into geometric shapes. The composed instant images add the texture and time of the accumulated paint to generate a new space on the canvas. In addition to the photo collage and thick matière geometric shapes in <The Tourist> in 2020, the artist shifts his focus from minor objects to the surrounding landscape and extends the visual experience beyond abstract painting to the experience of space in which architecture and painting coexist.

I Kyoung Ha begins with landscapes encountered in everyday life and on her travels, quietly drawing out the “traces of time and emotion” that remain in moments easy to overlook. Rather than rushing to define what she sees, she holds the scene in a sustained, contemplative gaze, then translates the subtle movements of the heart into paint. In her work, calmness takes precedence over drama; by withholding exaggerated emotional peaks, she allows a gentler resonance to surface—one that offers viewers a soft, lingering consolation.

What matters in her practice is less “what is depicted” than “how one stays with the scene.” Different affects—warmth and ease, or solitude and faint melancholy—interlock quietly within a single frame, inviting viewers to encounter their own memories and emotions without strain. I Kyoung Ha favors subdued chroma and controlled value, building density through a traditional painterly process that often begins with a dark underpainting and gradually shifts from shadow toward light. Through this method, she constructs an inner temperature and temporal depth that extend beyond the image on the surface.

Having earned a BFA in Painting from Hongik University and completed coursework in Special Video & Graphic Design at Sogang University’s Graduate School of Mass Communication, I Kyoung Ha has consistently expanded an attitude of “looking” and “staying”—as suggested by series titles such as Gaze of Stillness (2024), A Looking Heart (2023), and Quietly Swaying (2022). Across her exhibitions, she continues to refine a visual language that does not insist, but remains—so that time, feeling, and silence can be held with care.

Jinhyung Lee begins with images gathered from the internet, books, and everyday life, yet sets aside their content and narrative to focus instead on the conditions of perception. Nuances of color, trembling contours, density, and texture do not seek to explain the image, but reveal the state that lingers in the act of seeing. In his work, the image is not an object of representation; it exists as a residue of sensation—stripped of meaning and transformed into the materiality of painting.

Hyewon Na is a painter born in Gwangju, South Korea. Her work explores conflicting yet coexisting emotional states, such as anxiety, violence, imperfection, sacrifice, love, and beauty. Through her art, she reflects on human vulnerability and the tension between finitude and eternity. Her work is a study of how to aesthetically represent these human contradictions. Much of her inspiration comes from history, society, religion, and more.
She earned her Diplom from the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden (under Professor Martin Honert) in Germany, and has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in South Korea, Berlin, Dresden, Paris, and other cities. She currently resides and works in Berlin, Germany.

Exploring the intersection of reality and fantasy, Jung Woo Jae's emotionally charged artworks delve into the desires and struggles of modern individuals. His recurring motif of the adolescent girl symbolizes the poignant journey of self-discovery and the pursuit of self-esteem in the throes of adulthood. Often depicted as pets, animals emerge as beacons of healing and comfort, offering solace in the face of modern anxieties and the isolating tendencies of individualistic societies. By grounding his fantastical elements within meticulously rendered landscapes and luminous light effects, Jung Woo Jae masterfully blurs the lines between reality and imagination, inviting the viewer to participate in a relatable emotional journey. Through his hyperrealistic techniques, he imbues his art with a potent message of "healing and recovery," offering a comforting presence and a sense of hope to those navigating the uncertainties of modern life.

YISLOW focuses on various relationships that form human life. However, characteristics of YISLOW’s world of art does not limit its subject of the relationship to humans but includes abstract realms such as time, incident, objects, or even oneself. By heaping disordered lines and colors that bloom from the heart, the artist tries to capture the undefinable infinite image like the random atypical humming that vanishes in her work. Perhaps the work of YISLOW is most like the imagery when the word ‘innocent’ is interpreted in the language of visual art.

Born in Ukraine in 1993, Katia Lifshin lives and works in Tel Aviv, Israel. She studied art at Pima College in Tucson, Arizona, before continuing her practice independently, gradually shaping a distinctive visual language.

b. 1980, Montalban, Philippines

At the heart of Rodel Tapaya’s work is his ongoing amalgamation of folk narrative and contemporary reality within the framework of memory and history. Utilizing a range of media - from large acrylic on canvasses to the exploration of under-glass painting, traditional crafts, diorama, and drawing - Tapaya filters his observations of the world through folktales and pre-colonial historical research,  creating whimsical montages of his characters.

Rodel Tapaya was awarded the coveted Top Prize in the Nokia Art Awards, which allowed him to pursue intensive drawing and painting courses at Parsons School of Design in New York and the University of Helsinki in Finland. In 2011, he won a landmark achievement for a Filipino artist by winning the Signature Art Prize given by the Asia-Pacific Breweries Foundation and the Singapore Art Museum. He was also among the Thirteen Artists Awardee of the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2012. 

Nuttiwut (1993) presents his artwork through the chaotic journey of his own life because these experiences are relatable to may people who may have never realized it. Also, he expresses his work to make fun of himself and the surrounding society, The artist has been creating works and exhibiting constantly. For example, “The Twelve Labours of Hercules” in 2018, “The Art of Survival” in 2019 and additionally he had joined group exhibitions such as “HUMAN-19” in 2020 and “The spirit of Six” in 2019 at Number1Gallery, Hotel Art Fair in 2024. Besides he had participated an international exhibition for instance “Art Expo Malaysia 2019” and Art Fair Philippines in 2020 , Art Busan 2024.


He explores the ways in which events and objects with fragile qualities are transformed into paintings that project his view of the world. The paintings, created by transferring the shapes of intuitive and impulsive trajectories to the canvas, coloring them, and superimposing sketch lines that go back in time, reflect the site of the artist’s body’s vital encounter with and understanding of the world. The shapes formed by the jagged, impulsive trajectories are glazed and clumsy, but there is a recollected sincerity behind their appearance.

The artist creates drawings on the fly, collecting and reinterpreting ideas from objects. He has seen closely or encountered by chance. He perceives the paper or canvas, the support for recording the trajectory, only in his peripheral vision and draws according to the impulsive rhythm of his hand, or he chooses visual isolation, not looking at the support at all. Relying on guesswork and sensation to capture shapes, the recorded objects become the sketches for the paintings, with their fuzzy shapes. Freed from the desire to reproduce the surface of the object, this act aims to truthfully record the indeterminacy and ambiguity of the body’s impulsiveness. The lines thus drawn help me to focus on the abstract fragments of the events encountered and the elements of the painting.

The brushstrokes that apply oil pigment to the drawing’s shapes move and lay out the color plane based on the direction of the drawing strokes, such as where they are applied with pressure and the rhythm of the line. In this process, the drawing outline inevitably becomes embedded in the pigment of the oil painting, which is then scratched out again with a pencil or re-emphasized with a darker brush, preserving the past trajectory as a final image. The forms maintained by the dense outlines create the appearance of a solid exoskeleton that blocks intervention from the outside, but the gaps between lines and lines become a fragile exoskeleton that allows for contact with the outside. In Jang’s paintings, the viewer’s gaze is actively invited to penetrate through the gaps in the outline, just as bacteria penetrates through the gaps in an exoskeleton, creating a field of interaction with the artist’s paintings. This phenomenon is not only the artist’s way of being in a world with complex causal relationships, but also the embodiment of the artist’s attitude toward such a world.

Park Kyung Ryul(b.1979) is based in Seoul, South Korea. Park received a B.F.A and a M.F.A in Fine Arts from Hongik University, and an M.F.A from Chelsea College of Arts. Park has held solo exhibitions at Baik Art Seoul (2024, Seoul), One and J. Gallery (2021, Seoul), DOOSAN Gallery New York(2020, New York), DOOSAN Gallery (2020, Seoul), Baik Art Seoul (2019, Seoul), and Lungley Gallery (2018, London). Park has also participated in group exhibitions at Buk-Seoul Museum of Art(2023, Seoul), Open Studio(2022, California), Perigee Gallery(2021, Seoul), Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art (2020, Ansan), Ilmin Museum of Art (2019, Seoul), Mine Project (2019, Hong Kong), Beijing Commune (2019, Beijing), SongEun Art Space (2018, Seoul). Park was awarded the SongEun Art Excellence Award in 2018, and also participated in 18th Street Art center Residency, DOOSAN Residency New York, SeMA Nanji Residency and MMCA Residency Goyang.


 Artist MAWZ has been drawn to Disney animation films and cartoons since childhood. While studying Fine Arts at Chung-ang University, the artist created a character to represent himself and painted the world through its eyes. The artist’s artistic stage name, MAWZ, is named after the character from his early work. His birth dream of sharks and the movie <JAWS> inspired its naming. 

 

The artist's work explores surrealism and symbolism, conveying messages of reality's absurdity, personal concerns, social situations, and aspirations. His work conveys social, cultural, and personal concerns through the use of symbolic imagery, featuring poetic symbolism and animated expressions. The symbols used include envelopes, ribbons, and eagles, and their meanings can be interpreted in different ways based on the viewer's perspective. His recent work revolves around exploring the absurdity of reality and social issues. He continuously experiments with new materials and conducts thorough research on the subject's background or history to add more depth to his work. 

 

The artist’s defining characteristic is his use of Matière, which is conveyed through simple and implicit expressions with cheerful colors and thick brushstrokes of paint. Before starting any artwork, the artist meticulously documents the content or stories he intends to convey. He draws inspiration and motivation from his imagination, surroundings, and personal experiences to depict his unique perspective in his work. His recent work emphasizes background and three-dimensional elements over characters and icons from his earlier pieces, adding depth and highlighting the message. His animated style and expressions capture deep concerns across diverse subjects and allow for varied interpretations among viewers.

 

The artist is experimenting with various mediums to refine and develop his style and expressed a desire to expand into creating more three-dimensional work, in addition to his current focus on two-dimensional paintings. The artist previously collaborated with various brands, including McDonald's, Volkswagen, Cass, and SM Entertainment, to communicate with the public. MAWZ uses the process of creating art as a means to illustrate his personal exploration of the future unknown. He seeks to share his journey with the audience to spread positive energy and convey optimistic promises of life. 

Antony Micallef (b. 1975, Swindon, UK) is a British contemporary artist working in London. He was notably taught by the austere landscape painter John Virtue, who was taught by the postwar painter Frank Auerbach.
Described as a modern expressionist, Micallef roots his work in social commentary and self-examination. Known for his visually charged figure paintings, he uses oil paint in a groundbreaking way; he is able to literally sculpt and form the paint to reconfigure the parameters of what an oil
painting can be. Combined with his impasto and layering techniques, the oil paint is pushed to its extreme and blurs our reading of painting and sculpture.
Micallef’s recent paintings are created using these unique methods where the oil is changed into a material to realise a new form of physical embodiment.

n the paintings of Son Jung-gi (b. 1991), nature unfolds as a space of overwhelming scale. A single small figure within the vast landscape reveals how minute human existence can be, and yet how profoundly one is able to contemplate within such quietude. In his works, the viewer encounters an expansion of the inner self through the stillness that nature affords.

Artist Note
My studio has long been rooted in Junggu. On the way there, construction sites, vacant lots after demolition, and temporary tarps and partition walls appear again and again. At first, I did not think these scenes were connected to my work. They were simply views I passed every day. Yet the longer I continued working, the more those scenes lingered in my mind, longer than anything on the canvas.

I first thought it was about form. The cross-sections of cut structures, the planes made by tarps, the texture and unevenness of soil all seemed to echo the relationships between line and plane I was working with on canvas. But that sense could not be explained by resemblance alone. The time during construction stayed with me longer than the finished building, and a vacant lot felt less like an empty place than a site where multiple times and movements had layered and settled. What had already passed and what had yet to be built coexisted, and the state of not being easily resolved into one thing or another kept going.

Looking back, something similar was happening in my work. The canvas did not move only in the direction I planned. One line called the next, and each layer of paint covered the traces beneath without fully erasing them. Erasure became space for another kind of intervention. Past choices did not disappear but instead brought future ones, and the canvas kept shifting its relationships, producing different states. Through this process, I came to feel that my practice might be less about completing an image than about creating conditions in which the canvas can keep moving.

Around this time, my attitude toward painting began to shift. The canvas became less a structure closing toward a result than a place where multiple times, movements, and choices continue to act on one another. I understand this movement as a verbal attitude in painting. To be verbal, I think, is not to make process visible, but to hold open the possibility that the canvas will not settle into a single state and will keep forming new relationships.

Recently, I have been thinking about this alongside the materiality of space. A construction tarp conceals the interior while revealing that change is underway. A vacant lot exists as a moment of pause, already holding the shape of what comes next. I have been thinking for a long time about what kind of structure the sense of transition I noticed there might leave inside painting. My recent work is in the process of holding onto that question and moving, slowly, through it.
