Creating captivating and labor-intensive work with the idea of continuing the legacy of the abstract expressionism movement from the 50s and 60s, Taher Jaoui's paintings are rich assemblages of layered forms, vibrant colors, expressive gestures, and mathematics signs and formulas. Applied on canvas through a dynamic interaction, a physical back-and-forth dialogue in which perspective and orientation continuously change until all the elements are balanced right, these opulent creations are the artist's way of expressing himself.

Shuto Okayasu’s work explores the dual nature of the same thing; strange and beautiful, real and imagined, loud and quiet, chaos and harmony. Through the process of art marking, what he considers as an endless practice of recording and rebuilding, he lets his mind travel freely between the two worlds; offline and online, the present and the dream, and the past and the future. In Okayasu’s work, a complicated foreground with a crowd of vivid colors creates contrast with a simple and smooth background. Yet, they harmonize with each other in a consistent lonely quiet mood. Influenced by the sampling technique of hip hop, Okayasu chooses from what he caught visually and auditory in everyday life and his culture; Japanese Edo painting, anime, and cartoon, and combines their essence on canvas to appreciate and represent the world where he belongs to. His world is decadent and surreal, but at the same time, it is true to the actual world in some way and leaves us with hope.

Born in Schwerte, Germany, in 1952, she studied at the Werkkunstschule in Cologne and became one of the first artists to exhibit at the Monika Sprüth Gallery, well-known for presenting only female artists. She is a professor at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Trockel’s early works include the series Knitted Paintings (1985), created using machine-knitted fabrics stretched over canvases. In these woolen canvases, Trockel depicts generic computer-generated imagery and, in some cases, particular historical iconography such as a Soviet worker with a hammer and sickle.
The artist continues to work in a wide variety of media and genres, including the creation of living sculptures from garden elements as in Less Sauvages than Others (2006). Rosemarie Trockel has received numerous awards, including the Wolf Prize in Arts in 2011 and the Roswitha Haftmann Prize in 2014. She has exhibited extensively worldwide: in 2012 her work was presented at the New Museum in New York in a retrospective organized by the Reina Sofia in Madrid, that traveled to the Serpentine Gallery in London the following year. In 2018, the Moderna Museet in Stockholm mounted a solo show of her work. Trockel is the first woman to represent Germany in its national pavilion at the 1999 Venice Biennale, and continues to exhibit internationally.

Ryan Lee is based in New York and has held exhibitions in Chicago, Valencia, and Sacramento. The artist's work statically presents everyday spaces and flat, banal scenes. Scenes containing still life that highlight the absence of humans capture an unclear, open story as if someone has just passed by or may be approaching. It is full of the ambiguity of not knowing when and what will happen, and the production is cropped from a third perspective as if you are watching through CCTV. The work leads us to deeply observe familiar things, adds imagination and psychological anxiety, and, unlike the reproduction of everyday life, it is no longer distant from the ordinary.

Born in 1933 to an affluent family in Gaeseong, Han Youngsoo showed artistic talent from a young age and pursued photography as a hobby. After his military service in the Korean War, he became a member of the Shinsunwhue (New Line) group, an association of realist photographers who championed “everyday life photography.” In Seoul, they documented the resurrection of the city in the late 1950s and the social realities of the Korean people. South Korea’s economy saw explosive growth in the 1960s. In 1966, Han founded his photography studio, Han’s Photo, which pioneered the country’s advertising and fashion photography industries.

Han went on to take leadership positions in numerous photography associations and cultural institutes. In 1987, he published Life, a photography book that compiled historic scenes of Seoul in the aftermath of the Korean War. After his passing in 1999, his daughter Han Sunjung established the Han Youngsoo Foundation to promote Han’s legacy and preserve the estate of his negatives and other archives. The Foundation has garnered international recognition for Han’s photographs. His works were included in the Les Rencontres d’Arles (2014), and he has held recent solo exhibitions at the International Center of Photography in New York (2017), Baik Art Gallery LA (2018), and Harvard University Asia Center (2019). Han’s work has been included in groundbreaking international exhibitions such as The Space Between: The Modern in Korean Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in September 2022.

Grems or Michaël Eveno born in 1978 in Paris, now based in Biarritz, France. A complete artist with an overflowing energy, Grems is this kind of unstoppable artist that will always push the boundaries til the end. His two main creative tendencies, art and music, developed alongside one another, are teasing and forcing each other to more energetic production in order to always create something unexpected while keeping his well known and unique style.


Blake Daniels, born in 1990 in Cincinnati, Ohio, is an artist known for his unique blend of figurative and abstract art. Working between New York and Johannesburg, Daniels has a rich artistic heritage and developed his passion for art early on. With a Master of Fine Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he received the Edward L. Ryerson Fellowship, Daniels employs various techniques, including traditional oil painting and mixed media. His works explore themes of intimacy and human connection, portraying intricate interpersonal relationships set against mystical backdrops, creating an intimate, enchanting atmosphere for the audience.

Hyundoo Jung gathers subjective conversational language by accumulating brushworks that show the physicality of the senses that arise from the inside. After graduating from the Department of Painting at Hongik University, the artist earned a master’s degree in the Department of Fine Arts at the Seoul National University of Science & Technology and was a resident artist at the Gyeonggi Creation Centre. His paintings reflect the trajectory and substance of the human body, while also being hospitable and evoking a distinct feeling. He repeats the process of his works by reacting intuitively to the colours and images formed by the improvisational movement and the state and concentration of the paint application on the canvas. The image of the stacked layers on the screen exposes a spectrum of colours and the artist’s sensual judgement. Hyundoo Jung also gradually makes the chroma heavier while adding a sense of density of colour. He treats the entire screen of his painitngs as a result of complete abstraction and sensation, as if it were directed from the surface to another kind of space. 

Wonkyo Choi explores the intersections where opposing or contrasting realms meet, overlap, or collide. Wonkyo’s work focuses on dissolving and reconstructing these boundaries, challenging the fixed notions of separation. Recently, the artist’s practice has turned toward the nature of images produced within digital environments. Also, the artist investigates their depth, expansiveness, weight, and spatial qualities—elements often overlooked in purely data-driven forms. By transforming these immaterial, digitally-generated images into physical and tactile presences, Wonkyo attempts to give form to the intangible, bridging the virtual and the real. the artist’s work not only questions the ontology of contemporary digital imagery but also proposes new ways of sensing and experiencing the image beyond the screen.


Anouk Lamm Anouk is ar=s=c prac=ce spans pain=ng, drawing, sculpture, installa=on, and wri=ng. Their manifesto claims: “No Age, No Gender, No Origin”, or as they say: “I am no one I am nothing” which could be a reference to their embedment in Zen Buddhism. Anouk iden=fies as trans-non-binary and by virtue of this and living as a Person with au=sm, it is crucial to them to rid themselves of the external a`ribu=ons and labels that come from norma=ve society in order both to see and encounter others without the violence of classifica=on and an=cipa=on, to be truly open.
The star=ng point of their pain=ngs is the raw linen, the canvases itself is crucial. The unprimed frontside of the linen is a living part of their works and becomes a connec=ng visual element across several series. Their colour pale`e is strictly limited, most oDen to earthy colours, hues of black and off-white are also present; reduc=on is key. Anouk works both in series and independently of series – some pain=ngs are solely abstract, while others are predominantly figura=ve – all of which is connected by unique handwri=ng and gestural strokes. Text or text fragments are also part of their prac=ces. The texts are inten=onally unobtrusive, some=mes they require viewers to look for them. These give a hint or raise ques=ons.
In their work, Anouk returns to certain mo=fs, beings, and rhythms, which they unite together into a singular, holis=c cosmos, with the aim of conjuring peaceful spaces for contempla=on with a strong undercurrent of desire. This can be seen in their mostly figura=ve representa=ons in the “Lesbian Jazz” series, which features abstract symbols and mo=fs embedded next to naked bodies. The bodies on the canvas are oDen female or non-binary, some=mes sexless, and always anonymous. Faces or facial expressions are rare and usually leD out, because “Lesbian Jazz” portrays above all iden=ty, a lifestyle, a community, and not individualised portraits. Their ar=s=c prac=ce emerges from the urgent need for queer visibility in a world rife with discrimina=on, and their pain=ngs explore the visual languages of fluid iden=ty and body as they are coded and re-coded within society.

Manjae (Park Juhyun) has devoted his painting practice to a single, inexhaustible subject: the dokkaebi, Korea's indigenous supernatural being. Rather than merely depicting this trickster spirit, his large-scale acrylic paintings make its sinmyo (神妙) — the quality of being at once numinous and unfathomable — directly available to the senses. Densely packed canvases teem with all things in creation: mythic animals and plants, East Asian architectural motifs, machines and airplanes, and crowds of figures whose status, dress, and gesture each hint at their own symbolism, dispersed across the picture without a single center.

 A JiHye abstractly depicts the inner energy that blossoms from her subconscious in her works. She primarily works with acrylic and colored pencils, utilizing striking contrasts of vivid colors to convey a sense of brightness and vitality—one of the defining characteristics of her art.
 Beyond her personal artistic practice, A JiHye is also the co-founder and designer of the design studio Sparks Edition. Additionally, she is an active member of Spectrum Object, a collective of creators from various fields. Through Spectrum Object, she explores the intersection of visual art and diverse cultural content, particularly music, translating these inspirations into paintings. In 2017, she produced a series titled Layer along with an accompanying art book, and more recently, she has been working under the theme BLOOMERS, expressing forms in the act of blooming. In 2019, she co-curated the exhibition DANCING BLUE at AvenueL Art Hall alongside her creative and life partner, artist Jun-Oh Jang. The exhibition was an attempt to capture their respective artistic expressions and individuality through shades of blue.
Through Sparks Edition, A JiHye has contributed to the branding and artwork for various musicians, including BTS’s fourth studio album MAP OF THE SOUL: 7, 10cm, and LE SSERAFIM. She has also worked on brand identity projects such as IOPE, demonstrating her ability to transcend genres and disciplines, consistently delivering innovative visual creations across different fields.

Sung Tae Kim specializes in the process of transforming a flat surface into a three-dimensional object. The works are a plane with three-dimensional potential and a processed surface, depicting space through installation. Interestingly, behind this complex process, we find the artist replacing the segmental method of measurement with psychology.

Jongheon Bae (b. 1969) discovers artistic values in ordinary things with deep thinking and lyrical sensibility, and expresses them through visual media. He creates his own works without restrictions on form and material. He majored in painting at Gachon University and its graduate school, and completed a doctorate in fine arts at Kyungpook National University. Jongheon Bae held a total of 17 solo exhibitions, including Gallery SoSo's 《Trying Nothing》. He also participated in several group exhibitions at home and abroad including Animamix Biennale(Shanghai), Busan Biennale(Busan), Changwon Sculpture Biennale(Changwon), Jeonnam International Ink Biennale(Mokpo), Daegu Photo Biennale(Daegu), the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Sungkok Museum of Art, Arko Art Museum, SFAC Galleries in San Francisco, ArtN space in Shanghai, and DUMBO Art Center in New York. He published a massive book, 『Bae JongHeon_JagUpZipSeo』(2015, Seoul: Monocle), which is a compilation of his artistic world, including artist's notes summarizing his artistic thoughts, work records, and catalogs. Bae Jongheon won the Goam Art Award in 2014, and his works are collected in the Arko Art Museum, Seoul Museum of Art, and Gyeonggi Art Museum. Following the Glenfiddich Artist-in-Residence in Scotland in 2021, he is working as an artist-in-residence at the Changdong Residency at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in 2023. In there he is expanding the scope of his work through inspiration from new spaces and life.

based in Chiba. The theme of the complex emotions and instability of young people is expressed through their hesitation and frustration as their humanity. Kimura believes that emotions, which can be seen as negative, sometimes cause people pain, but at the same time give them a sense of being alive. LOST BOYS, one of his best-known works, depicts just such moments.

LEE Jeongbae (b. 1974) creates works that mirror the image of nature among the city's landscapes, which are privatized and tailored to conform to human needs and desires. Prior to this, the artist experimented with various mediums, including painting, photography, video, and installation. In 2016, LEE began to take an interest in representing deteriorating landscapes that had gradually lost all original meaning through the encroachment of capitalism. These segmented images, which become objets, each act as a landscape that portrays various scenes from nature. LEE Jeongbae's works, which examine the daily life of the city, capture fragments of mountains, rivers, and the sky that peer through the cityscape. These images are separated by geometric forms and expressed through the use of artificial materials such as FRP and aluminum panels. Nature, which has been torn apart by capitalism and materiality, is recomposed by LEE into atypical forms and painted over with color. Completed through a delicate process of painting the surface of the sculpture hundreds of times, these works represent new abstract landscapes expressed through LEE's perspective.
 
Since LEE Jeongbae's first solo exhibition at Munhwa Ilbo Gallery (Seoul, Korea) in 2005, he has shown at Artside Gallery (Seoul, Korea); Window Gallery at Gallery Hyundai (Seoul, Korea); 16 Bungee at Gallery Hyundai (Seoul, Korea); Seodaemun Prison History Hall (Seoul, Korea); Pibi Gallery (Seoul, Korea); Goodspace Gallery (Seoul, Korea); and the Seoul Metropolitan Government (Seoul, Korea). LEE has also participated in various group exhibitions at the Busan Museum of Art (Busan, Korea); Korean Cultural Center in Brussels (Brussels, Belgium); Buk-Seoul Museum of Art (Seoul, Korea); Seoul Olympic Museum of Art (Seoul, Korea); Arario Gallery (Seoul, Korea); CAN Foundation (Seoul, Korea); Whanki Museum (Seoul, Korea), and more. In 2011, LEE was awarded the "JoongAng Fine Arts Prize," organized by the Seoul Arts Center (Seoul, Korea). His works are included in many significant collections such as MMCA, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Seoul, Korea); Seoul Museum of Art (Seoul, Korea); Arario Museum (Seoul, Korea); Joongang Ilbo (Seoul, Korea); CAN Foundation (Seoul, Korea); Whanki Museum (Seoul, Korea); and ART OMI Collection (New York, USA).

Eunju Jeong is an abstract artist currently living and working in Daegu, South Korea. After graduating from a Masters degree in Western Painting at Kyemyung University, Eunju Jeong studied abroad at HBK Braunschweig in Germany, where she reached a deeper dimension in her color surface abstract paintings through a calm and stable exploration of the feelings and sensations of color. The artist focuses on expressing her inner flow through various colors that surface the canvas, and has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in various cities at home and abroad (need the names), working both on various flat works and semi-cubic sculptures. For over 30 years, Jeong's work has gone through a process of transformation, from painting to semi-cubic abstraction on acrylic and wooden boards, to a return to painting on canvas. To this day, she continues to work on imagining, contemplating, and dreaming through material and physical attributes, while evoking the emotional and tangible, as well as sensing what cannot be verbalized, codified, or most importantly, reproduced. Jeong's paintings are similar in appearance to chromatic abstraction through the  paint smears, brushstrokes, layers of color, the subtle spaces and crevices they create, the trajectory of the paint as it flows toward the floor by the law of gravity, and the way it smears and solidifies. It also allows us to see the myriad traces of the painting's progress and the passage of time that reveals all of its processes. These dense, wet paintings, with their cool, bold brushstrokes, are at once highly performative and a longing for a representation of a world that cannot be represented, a world that lies outside of visibility but is clearly felt and sensed. At the same time, they are paintings with impressions and tones that evoke a very specific empathy with the beautiful nature.

Kim Ji-yoon (b. 1995) documents the landscapes she encounters through video and images, and reconstructs them into painting by focusing on the passage of time, the energy permeating the scene, and the fleeting moments of change and flow. Scenes easily captured with digital devices and smartphones are re-experienced through the screen, carrying layers of time and traces of light and temperature that were not perceived in the moment. The artist captures these sensations and builds time onto the canvas through the repeated gestures of brushstrokes and the act of rubbing the painted surface, using oil paint as her primary medium. The accumulated colors and textures on the canvas become another landscape of time—formed through the warmth at her fingertips and the resistance of the paint as she works across the surface.

Born in 1972 in Bangkok, Thailand, Pakpoom Silaphan is a contemporary artist whose work delves into themes of globalization, mass consumerism, and the pervasive influence of cultural icons. His practice often employs found objects, such as vintage metal advertising signs and wooden Pepsi and Coca-Cola crates, collected during his time in Thailand. These objects serve as his canvas, offering a fresh reinterpretation of Pop Art reminiscent of Warhol's *Brillo Box* installations. Silaphan's work reflects on the impact of advertising and mass consumption, weaving a narrative about the infiltration of Western imagery and ideology into his artistic journey.  

Using icons such as Warhol, Dalí, and Frida Kahlo, Silaphan collages and paints over these branded surfaces, suggesting the transformation of these artists into global brands themselves. His art bridges the cultural divide between East and West, exploring the universal language of symbols and their collective imprint on human consciousness.  

Silaphan earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Silpakorn University in Bangkok before moving to England in 2002 to study printmaking at Camberwell College of Arts and complete a Master’s in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts. His work is featured in prestigious collections, including the Hiscox Collection and Sir Paul Smith’s private collection. In 2004, he was shortlisted for the John Moores Painting Prize at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.  

Silaphan's art has garnered attention in significant publications such as *For Which It Stands: Americana in Contemporary Art* by Carla Sakamoto (2012) and has been featured in *The Financial Times*, *The Independent*, and *Elle* magazine. His work has been described as “a sign of the times” and hailed as reflective of “the Pop artist of these times.”  

Exhibiting internationally in London, Japan, Hong Kong, New York, Singapore, and India, Silaphan continues to make his mark on the global art scene. In May 2013, he was commissioned by the Siam Center in Bangkok for a public art installation, further cementing his influence in both local and international spheres.

Park Seo-Bo was a pivotal figure in Korean contemporary art and a founding member of the Dansaekhwa movement, which emerged in post-war Korea in the early 1970s and has since gained international recognition.
His signature series, 'Ecriture,' began in the late 1960s through the repetition of pencil lines drawn over wet monochromatic surfaces. Over time, he expanded this language by incorporating hanji (traditional Korean paper) and color, creating works through layered actions of pasting, scraping, scratching, and rubbing — a meditative pursuit of emptiness through reduction.
Park's work has been exhibited at major institutions worldwide, including the Venice Biennale, Tate Liverpool, Brooklyn Museum, and Samsung Museum of Art. His works are held in the permanent collections of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, M+, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, and the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea.

Kim Seoul was born in 1983 in Daegu, South Korea, where she spent her early years. After graduating from the Department of Printmaking at Hongik University, she went on to earn both her master’s and doctoral degrees in Painting and Printmaking from Tama Art University in Japan. Though her real name is Kim Sohee, the artist works under the name "Kim Seoul." This choice was inspired by other artists who create a separation between their personal identity and artistic persona. She selected "Seoul"—a name recognizable even to those outside Korea—as a way to symbolically represent her practice and identity as an artist.

In her series “Solitary Box Diary,” Kim Seoul shifts from her earlier works, which visualized urban density and solitude through box-like structures, to a more introspective focus on personal space and daily life. She folds cardboard boxes and flattens them onto paper surfaces, using silkscreen printmaking techniques to highlight the traces left behind. Everyday imagery and experiences are then drawn over the surface, inviting viewers to reflect on and connect with shared moments from ordinary life.

Ku, Ja-Young(1969) studied B.F.A and M.F.A Painting at Seoul National University and received MFA, New Forms at Pratt Institute in NY, USA. The artist has worked as a visiting artist at Brigham Young University in Utah in 2001, Afterward being at Art Omi International Artist’s Residency in Omi, New York in 2001, by establishing himself as an international artist. Ku was invited to numerous solo exhibitions and group exhibitions at prominent art museums and galleries in the world, including Witworth Art Gallery, Manchester, England; Arts Center Nabi, Korea; Carrillo Gil Museum, Mexico
City, Mexico and Krakow Triennial Print Exhibition, Krakow, Poland.

The characters that form the motifs of my work are common images that I have created. They are given a writing order and symbolized, and the process of preservation and change in the repetitive writing is established in the work as several afterimages, like time-lapse photography. Whenever the viewer sees a character that he or she does not remember, the difference between his or her memory and the work is evoked and referenced to the character in his or her memory, and this process reconstructs the work as a painting with intensity. The work also serves as a device to strengthen the connection between the viewer and the character with feelings of "I don't understand" or "What is this?", and as a record of a living person, not only as a work of art, but also as a portrait with an aspect as a recording medium.
