Seungwon Yang majored in photography at Seoul Institute of the Arts and received her master's degree in fine arts from Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London. He creates pseudo-images that blur the boundaries between reality and fabrication using digital images, exploring the possibilities of extending the field of epistemology and photography. He is currently working on revealing hidden aspects of contemporary society, disrupting the taken-for-granted process of perception, and the process of recognizing situations or landscapes that individuals face in modern society. He also captures the heterogeneity created at the intersection of reality and fiction in an expanded concept. He questions the landscapes of harsh reality resulting from a superficial understanding of regions and places, and the differences in materiality visible in the gap between nature and imitation. He has held solo exhibitions at various venues, including N/A (2022), Seoul Museum of Art SeMA Storage (2021), Hite Collection (2019), and SongEun ArtCube (2018).

Bae Bien U(b. 1950) holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Hongik University's School of Applied Art, and has remained internationally active since his first solo exhibition in 1982. In 2006, he was the first Asian photographer to hold a solo exhibition at the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum in Spain, and was commissioned by the Spanish government to film the garden of the Alhambra(Granada, Spain), a world heritage site, for two years. Bae continued to hold large-scale solo exhibitions at venues that range from the Gwangju Museum of Art(2015), the Musée d'art moderne de Saint-etienne(France, 2015), and the Château de Chambord(France, 2015~2016) to the Wilmotte Foundation(Venice, Italy, 2022). He was awarded Lee Jung-sub Arts Award in 2016 and Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts & Lettres from the French government in 2017.

Toshimitsu Imai was an influential 20th-century Japanese painter. Best known for his monumental abstract works, Imai composed his canvases with a combination of thick impasto marks and fluid, inky lines to build chaotic, “allover” compositions.

It focuses on the anxiety and contradictions within the complex situations of life, as well as the subtle movements within them. It seeks images that capture the emotions and presence of beings who live through the world, colliding with it on a visceral level. It pursues images that can embody the will and complex emotions that arise at the boundaries where human strength confronts the world, encapsulating the power of existence within them. It visualizes the condensed emotions and forces within moments where existence interacts with matter in a chain of responses.

Based on an interest in 'how a wishing heart manifests in daily life,' Seokwoo Chung visualizes the energy emitted when a being strives toward something. He is fascinated by the flow of consciousness formed from cause and effect, and by the culture of wishes permeating the mundane. Drawing inspiration from the fundamental cultures of various religions, his current work extends the realm of the canvas by basing it on painting and incorporating installations in space. He implements a device that amplifies the characteristics of each, by going through various processes with painting works that correspond to the nature of specific spaces or places.

Hiroshi Nagai (Japanese: 永井博, born December 22, 1947) is a Japanese graphic designer and illustrator, known for his cover designs of city pop albums in the 1980s, which established the recognizable visual aesthetic associated with the loosely defined music genre

[Layers of Deficiency: Reframing Through Monsters and Frames]
The core theme permeating the artist’s work is ‘deficiency.’ While often dismissed as a negative element that renders humans incomplete, the artist strips away this stigma by infusing it with constant contemplation and observation. In her hands, deficiency is reinterpreted and brought to life as whimsical, fairy-tale-like creatures called ‘Deficiency Monster.’ These beings are meticulously crafted on soft felt, where the rich texture of oil pastels meets the delicate, sharp strokes of a pencil to create a sense of living fur.
Narratives of deficiency—once marginalized and deemed trivial—are brought to the surface through the medium of the ‘Frame,’ which the artist hand-builds from stone clay. Traditionally a tool for exhibiting and preserving something precious, the frame here serves as a protective fence for deficiency. It provides the audience with the necessary psychological distance to step back and view their most intimate emotions through a lens of fantasy.
The recurring signature of the work is the ‘Monster’—a pill-shaped creature with half-closed eyes that serves as the artist’s persona. The moment viewers lock eyes with these monsters, they undergo an indirect encounter with another’s deficiency. 
Yet, this gaze ultimately reflects back onto themselves. The artist invites the audience to meet the monster’s eyes, hoping this shared gaze becomes a moment to finally confront the deep-seated deficiencies within their own hearts.

Yihyun Kim draws about the futility of "wish." In her paintings, the theme is revealed in intense colors, an image of the deity with the motif of "Tanghwa," and the back of the wreath. The blindness of someone's act of continuing prayers even though they guess that their prayers will not be fulfilled indicates the back of what we desperately wanted, what we wanted to avoid the most. She earned a bachelor's degree from Hongik University's Department of Metal Art & Design and Oriental Painting. Currently, she is attending the Graduate School of Oriental Painting at Hongik University.

Tat or Nattee Sujithara was born in Bangkok in 1983. He received a Bachelor Degree of Fine Arts in Painting from Chiang Mai University in 2006. After graduation, he opened a solo exhibition ‘Color of Life’ at Neilson Hays Library in Bangkok in 2009. He later took on many portraiture and illustration projects, and also worked on ideas for next exhibitions. With more experiences in an art world, he decided to be a full-time professional artist and opened his second solo exhibition ‘Circle of Thought’ at The Meeting Room Art Gallery in 2019. He received the Triennale Prize in Drawing Category from the 5th Bangkok Triennale International Print and Drawing Exhibition, at Bangkok Art & Culture Centre in Bangkok. He currently works and resides with his family in Chiang Mai. 


Mónica Loya (b.1990, Mexico) has shown at KÖNIG in Mexico City and exhibited widely across Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Portugal. Her work merges sharp visual instincts with everyday imagery, constructing dissonant compositions that evoke the surreal logic of dépaysement. Found moments from smartphone snapshots and scenes from daily life are reconstructed on the canvas in new, ambiguous contexts. Through witty compositions, fluid lines, and vibrant tones—often red, blue, and pink—Loya transforms the ordinary into invisible yet emotionally potent events. The viewer is invited to observe and complete the work through their evolving emotional engagement, stepping directly into her open-ended world.

Soyoung Kwon observes nature through an intuitive lens, translating it into reimagined landscapes on canvas. For her, nature is a presence that quietly seeped into her life—almost like destiny. Through a deep sense of communion with the natural world, long-buried emotions and sensations within her begin to awaken. She attentively observes fleeting moments and subtle natural phenomena, exploring them through instinct and sensitivity. The resulting landscapes merge the physical world, the sensory realm, and the invisible—creating spaces where the boundaries between what is seen, felt, and imagined begin to blur.
She absorbs surreal moments in which the boundary between self and nature fades, allowing them to flow through her entire being. These impressions are expressed fluidly on the canvas, shifting with her subjective and momentary states of consciousness. As they intermingle, they give rise to new synesthetic imagery. Her paintings go beyond depicting scenery—they exist as living flows where sensation and emotion are organically intertwined. Through this, she gently reveals the intricate interconnectedness of all things, offering a contemplative and poetic way of engaging with the natural world.

After graduating from Musashino Art University junior college art department, he worked as an illustrator, focusing on magazine media such as "BRUTUS", "Cyzo", in-flight magazine "Tsubasa no Oukoku", advertising, apparel, music, and TV programs. 2010 first solo exhibition "PROM HEARTS c/w 10SEC.TILL LOVE" (No.12gallery)
After a career of about 25 years of drawing illustrations in acrylic, watercolor, and pencil for magazines and advertisements, he worked on oil paintings as if he had regained his early artistic impulses. Hamburgers, hot dogs, cartoon characters, and other icons of the American West Coast culture of the 1980s that the artist admired are drawn thickly with a painting knife. While depicting the symbol of a happy era, the complex of post-war Japan is painted over. It seems to be an expression of fetishism seen in Japanese subcultures that cuts out objects and characters in a straightforward manner. Here, there is an awareness of doubting conventional authorities such as nations and religions, and trying to perceive the past from various possibilities through individual feelings and actions. He mixes concrete figures that symbolize the era with abstractions that deviate from the image, and tries to depict the transformation of meaning in the times from what lies in between.

Born in 1993 in Osaka, the artist began their career as a tattoo artist. Since 2014, they have been based in Tokyo, working first as a staff member at a Harajuku apparel multishop, before expanding into graphic design. They later established their own tattoo studio and office, "TAPPEI ROOM," in Nakameguro.
In 2022, they collaborated with brands such as NIKE, UNDERCOVER, and BEAMS. In 2023, they made their debut as a guest tattoo artist overseas and began publishing a four-panel comic series in the culture magazine EYESCREAM.
They work across a wide range of media, using everything from canvas and their own body to human skin, paper, and clothing as platforms for expression.

Pablo Ruiz Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and theatre designer who spent most of his adult life in France. One of the most influential artists of the 20th century, he is known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore. Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907), and the anti-war painting Guernica (1937), a dramatic portrayal of the bombing of Guernica by German and Italian air forces during the Spanish Civil War. Picasso demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent in his early years, painting in a naturalistic manner through his childhood and adolescence. During the first decade of the 20th century, his style changed as he experimented with different theories, techniques, and ideas. After 1906, the Fauvist work of the older artist Henri Matisse motivated Picasso to explore more radical styles, beginning a fruitful rivalry between the two artists, who subsequently were often paired by critics as the leaders of modern art. Picasso's work is often categorized into periods. While the names of many of his later periods are debated, the most commonly accepted periods in his work are the Blue Period (1901–1904), the Rose Period (1904–1906), the African-influenced Period (1907–1909), Analytic Cubism (1909–1912), and Synthetic Cubism (1912–1919), also referred to as the Crystal period. Much of Picasso's work of the late 1910s and early 1920s is in a neoclassical style, and his work in the mid-1920s often has characteristics of Surrealism. His later work often combines elements of his earlier styles. Exceptionally prolific throughout his long life, Picasso achieved universal renown and immense fortune for his revolutionary artistic accomplishments and became one of the best-known figures in 20th-century art.

Seongjoon Hong(b.1987) continuously investigates the properties of painting, particularly its mediums and materials. Through various techniques, Hong repeatedly depicts scenes layered with smooth, thin, or translucent membranes that subtly reveal the flat canvas surface and the materials composing it. His works feature delicately colored landscapes where light refracts through layered silhouettes, leaving behind only faint shadows where color and image have dissolved. In his Layers of the air series, for instance, Hong centers soap bubbles on the canvas or positions them just beyond the frame, focusing on their lightness and transparency. By zooming in on these surfaces, he distorts the landscape, allowing waves of projected light to transform his work into abstract paintings.

Hong holds both a BFA and MFA in Fine Arts from Hongik University in Seoul. He has held solo exhibitions including at SEOJUNG ART(Seoul & Busan, 2024), 68projects(Berlin, Germany, 2024), Prompt Project(Seoul, 2023), Galerie BHAK(Seoul, 2022), Pipe Gallery(Seoul, 2022) and Hakgojae Design Project Space(Seoul, 2020). He has also participated in various group shows, including at Art Space Hohwa(Seoul, 2024), Frieze No.9 Cork Street(London, UK, 2024), ThisWeekendRoom(Seoul, 2024), M5 GALLERY(Ginja, Japan, 2023), Art space Hohwa(Seoul, 2023), Galerie BHAK(Seoul, 2022), Seojung Art Center(Seoul, 2022), Koo House Museum(Yangpyeong, 2022), Ilwoo Space(Seoul, 2022), and UARTSPACE(Seoul, 2019). He was selected as a 2020 New Hero by Public Art Magazine and participated in the 68projects Residency(Berlin, Germany, 2023). His works are part of collections at the PARKSEOBO Foundation and Art Space Hohwa.

His creative process is fueled by an innate desire to elevate the ordinary, encouraging viewers to reconsider the value of everyday objects and contemplate their own consumption habits.
In Zelalem's artwork, there is an underlying sense of disquiet, reflecting the complexities of the modern world in which we live. Through his masterful use of recycled materials, he constructs captivating portraits that challenge the status quo and leave a lasting impression on the art world. Each piece is a testament to the transformative power of art and the potential for renewal within ourselves and the world around us.

Weedong Yoon (b. 1982), an artist based in Korea, explores the cyclical nature of existence through hyper-realistic paintings. His work reflects themes of growth, struggle, and transformation, often using stones and sand as metaphors for renewal and completion. In his Monologue Series, Yoon portrays the journey of a stone passing over sand—its rough, intense moments symbolizing life's challenges, while the smooth, settled sand represents the serenity of life's fruition. This series encourages viewers to reflect on their own resilience and beauty, despite external struggles, and underscores the transformative power of time.

In addition to the Monologue Series, Yoon's works featuring birds further explore themes of harmony and balance. These birds symbolize connection, transcendence, and the unseen forces that sustain the natural world. They embody the delicate equilibrium between opposing forces—East and West, abstract and concrete—and highlight the importance of quiet actions in maintaining the world’s cycles. Together, these works prompt deeper contemplation of life’s interconnected processes.

Yoon’s art is rooted in the belief that all things ultimately return to nature. His recent participation in the “Find the Nature” exhibition at Objecthood Gallery reinforces this idea, emphasizing the link between the natural world and human-made creations. With a keen eye for detail, Yoon’s paintings invite introspection, offering viewers a space to reflect on the cycles that shape both the world and our lives.

Floating Selves, a Solidarity of Resonance
I do not trust the notion of a fixed self. Although the self is often defined in psychology as a unique and coherent identity, such a concept is fundamentally insufficient to capture the complexity and fluidity of the human inner world. Within the rapidly shifting currents of contemporary society, modern identity is continuously dismantled and dispersed, leaving us to drift through the world without a clear outline. In this process, fragile emotions are frequently fragmented, and coherent temporality and narrative lose their boundaries, often becoming powerless. Thus, the core and backdrop of my work is the visualization of the process through which incomplete beings of our time gather their own fragments—a “psychological safe zone.”
This psychological safe zone is not a simple refuge where all pain and conflict are resolved, nor a complete utopia. Rather, it is a place where beings that remain incomplete choose confrontation over avoidance, flow over closure, and bear their own rhythms as they pause, exploring transformation and recovery.

This space is realized as an unfamiliar and heterogeneous landscape inhabited primarily by anomalous life forms. These settings are not actual places but multidimensional spaces onto which inner sensations are projected—complex structures in which memory and imagination, fear and desire, are interwoven. The beings that appear possess organic, hybrid forms and identities that are never fixed. Figures wearing animal masks, unfamiliar beasts, and winged mammals all symbolize the fragmentation and reassembly of the self, actively driving their own narratives. Rather than isolating and defending themselves from the external world, they form spaces as open fields of relation where emotions and existence connect. Within these spaces, the self is once again experimented with, and resonance aligns itself with reality in solidarity.

The beings that appear in the work carry no fixed meanings. They are less identities than possibilities of identity, or states that the artist senses within lived reality. Through these scenes, the viewer is invited not to find comfort or definitive meaning, but to enter an unstable condition reliant on sensation. Selves pass through intermediate points toward a more complete form of being. This is not a process of healing but of individuation—a provisional space that allows one to form personal boundaries through resonance with the surrounding world. This space does not seek to establish a private order, but to explore the very possibility of order itself. It is always precarious. Yet it is precisely within this precarity that the hope emerges that the self may finally be contemplated.
“How far did the boundary extend before complete collapse, and in what form might it be rebuilt?”
The work offers no clear answers. Instead, within landscapes that hold this question, beings continue to move and transform. I remain within this space.
