Volō

b. 1990 · Seoul

Volō (Volo) poses the question, “What does it look like to live with a sense of balance in one’s life?” through semi-abstract paintings that exist between painting and sculpture. By cutting textured fabric, arranging the pieces, and assembling them on canvas, Volō constructs forms of self-reliance. This reflects her approach to anxiety: not being consumed by its negative aspects, but viewing it positively and using it playfully. These painting-pieces, which take shape through stacking and leaning against one another, become psychological resting places where one can pause amid instability. They also embody ways of connecting with others through exchange, solidarity, and relationships. Her major exhibitions include <Is This the Right Posture?> (2026, Space Uooyong), <Beneath the Digital Texts> (2026, Space Woonsol), and <PLAY> (2025, Small but Great).
