Shigeki Matsuyama is a Japanese contemporary artist. His work was shaped by his early career as an illustrator and his philosophical reflections following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. He has since pursued a more conceptual art practice, reinterpreting through his work the impact of modern society's consumerism, pop culture, media, and technology on the human experience. His works provide visual play through the use of repetitive patterns and intense colors, and he is expanding his artistic expression through various media,
