Exploring inner spaces and the human psyche, Choi Yoo Jeong (b. 1994, Busan, South Korea) creates works that evoke domestic spaces filled with solitary figures. Her meticulous brushwork and smooth surfaces accentuate the subtle atmosphere permeating her pieces. Doors, windows, and stairs play roles in the interstitial spaces, allowing surreal elements to infiltrate rational and modern interiors. Choi graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design in the United States in 2018 and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Painting at Korea University in South Korea. In 2021, she held her debut exhibition "The Return of Tangerine" at Seoul 175 Gallery. She has also participated in group exhibitions at Seongbuk Art Creation Center (2023), Seoul Gallery Iz (2016), among others. She has exhibited in group shows at Seongbuk Art Creation Center (2023), Hapjeong-dong, Seoul (2022), Seoul BGA Maru (2021), Delight Seoul (2019), Dongsoo Moon, Seoul (2019), and Woodbury House in Providence, USA (2018).
